Color design in nature

(English at the bottom)

Color design in nature

I once asked myself a question, “Why do ophthalmologists give the recommendation of looking at distant green plants in order to relax the eyes?” Why is it green and not other colors?

In the past, I have also heard of the theory that the blue color is relaxing while red makes people alert; reflective colors like gold and silver, as well as sharp colors like red, orange, yellow, and pink would naturally attract the brain’s attention, and thus these are attractions to babies and children; while gold, silver, and reflective diamonds are attractive and thus used for jewelry.

So it seems that all colors in nature are arranged perfectly and coordinate with the function of the human brain.

If the sky and the sea were not blue but red all day like sunrise and sunset, what would be the psychological effect on human beings?

When we were small, we learnt that red and green wouldn’t match with each other, but how about plants with red flowers and green leaves? If leaves were not green but red, what effect would it cause?

In the countryside, we could see green hills, white or green streams, blue sky, white clouds, white snow-capped mountains. Blue, green, and white are perfectly matched.

During dawn and dusk, the golden and silver, red and yellow colors of the sky also match perfectly with the dark background.

Thanks to the digital cameras and backlit screens, sea water turns golden and silvery as it reflects the rays of the rising and setting sun.

So sure enough, the colors in nature are well designed and not a coincidence.
