Don't fear

(English at the bottom)

-         你(靈命)的成長不是靠自己的能力;
-         當其他人有負於你,神可以滿足你情緒上的需要;
-         在有缺欠(barrenness)的情況下,你回望過去並不好受,害自己會再面對失敗;
-         眼光不要落在自己身上,要定睛在神身上;

中國人有句說話:「人無遠慮、必有近憂」;
難免會為未來擔憂 - 怕遇到不順利、不如願、不愉快的事;

不願放棄、不希望神取走;

究竟所相信的神,是一個怎樣的神;

神與人的關係,是一種怎樣的關係;
與神的關係需努力建立;

在聖經中,描寫神與人的關係是父子、是牧羊人與羊;
是愛、帶領、看顧;
信靠祂的人,是倚靠祂的能力,在祂引導下行走一生;
在困難中,祂會同在,保守安慰;

Don't fear

We often worry about the future
or fear that something undesirable would happen to us in future.
But recently the following idea came up into my mind:
fear is a sin!
Why? Because fear originates in our own expectations and desires,
e.g. something good would happen to us,
that God would bless us with good things
and not challenges and difficulties in life.
But how could we expect the creator of the universe, our Lord,
to make things happen according to our will and not His?

Recently, fear about different issues came up into my mind
and I asked for peace of mind.
But God's response and reminders
came from different sources yesterday,
all telling me the same instruction, "Don't fear..."

The solution to fear is not seeking peace of mind,
but to change (shift) our way of thinking,
as the pastor reminded me in today's sermon:
- A shift from fear to bravery;
- To forget our humiliation, shame of barrenness;
- Forget our past;
- We don't grow in our own strength;
- We have a God who is mighty and is fighting our battles;
- We can rely on His strength for our daily battles;
- God can meet our emotional needs when others forsake us;
- It is God who has formed us and is now reforming us;
- In our barren conditions, we look into our past, we are not joyful, we are afraid that we will fail;
- Take your eyes off yourself and focus on God, draw close to Him;
- God is waiting for us to take a step of faith;
- Rely on His power and not ours.

If we expect our Lord to remove difficulties and challenges in life,
we are only considering Him as one of those worldly gods made by human hands.
The relationship between God, the creator of this universe, and human beings,
is described as father and son, shepherd and sheep in the Bible.
It’s love and care.
Those who trust Him are under His guidance in this journey of life.
During difficulties, He is along our side, keeping us and comforting us.
When we have faulty thoughts and deeds, He would guide us and teach us.
