海上星輝 ... Stars in the sea

三月漫長陰暗日子過去，
前天喜見海上繁星點點，
(陽光照耀海面的反光點，
不斷閃爍如夜空繁星)。
太陽角度日換如星移，
一小時後繁星已移至岸邊。
光輝短暫，不能長存，
令我想起日前所讀經文：
『我們在你(神)面前是客旅，
是寄居的，與我們列祖一樣。
我們在世的日子如影兒，不能長存。』
(歷代志上29章：15節)

今天正好是中國人慎終追遠的日子，有一個字，大家不願提及，但這年代，連幼稚園也有生命教育吧！我們這寄居的客旅，究竟生命的意義何在？讀書似為事業，事業似為家庭和生活，人生是為家人？為自己？對世界帶來多點美善？

《聖經》《傳道書》也感嘆人生在世的日子如影兒，道出人生的種種虛空與真正意義，內容值得細味，例如：

『.…..眾人豈不都歸一個地方去麼？人的勞碌都為口腹，心裏却不知足.…..人一生虛度的日子，就如影兒經過；誰知道甚麼與他有益呢？』(傳道書7章6-7, 12節。)

中國哲人孔子論人生不同階段如此說：

『吾十有五而志於學，三十而立，四十而不惑，五十而知天命，六十而耳順，七十而從心所欲，不逾矩。』其中，我翻查五十而知天命的意思(參考以下連結：

https://kknews.cc/education/g4gxnl.html) ，認為人生在自己手上。然而我想：認識造物主的人，經歷和明白人生在上主手上。

在這記念與懷念故人的日子，也反思自己人生的意義。

Stars in the sea

The gloomy skies in March had eventually past and a glittering sea was finally seen in the sunny morning on 3 April. The angle of the sun was ever changing, and the glittering sea had resided near the bank after an hour.

This has reminded me of a verse in the Bible: “We are foreigners and strangers in your sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.” (1 Chronicles 29:15).

Today is the day for the Chinese people to pay tribute to their ancestors.

It might also be a good time to rethink the meaning of life. If our days are like a shadow, what is the meaning of this trip on earth? The Ecclesiastes in the Bible has also analyzed the meaningless and meaning of life, which is worth reading, such as Ecclesiastes 6: 6-7 and 12: 

“…Do not all go to the same place? Everyone’s toil is for their mouth, yet their appetite is never satisfied….For who knows what is good for a person in life, during the few and meaningless days they pass through like a shadow?” 

Confucius has said that people will learn about different things when they go through various stages in life. According to one explanation of his words, people start to understand that life is in one's own hand at the age of 50.  However, I think that for those who believe in the Creator of life, they experience and understand that life is in God's hands.
